Post-Discovery Rapid Response Coaching

90-Minute Individual or Couples Coaching Session

Just discovered an affair, infidelity, pornography use, sex addiction, compulsive sexual behaviour or another form of sexual betrayal?

The first hours and days after discovery can feel overwhelming. You may be experiencing shock, panic, anger, fear, confusion or an urgent need for answers.

You may not know whether to stay, leave, ask more questions, confront your partner or simply figure out what to do next.

You do not have to figure everything out today.

A Safe Place To Share Coaching offers a specialized 90-minute Post-Discovery Rapid Response session for individuals and couples facing the immediate aftermath of infidelity, pornography addiction, sex addiction, compulsive sexual behaviour or significant relational deception.

The goal is to slow the crisis down, reduce further emotional injury and create a practical plan for the next 24–48 hours.

What Is Post-Discovery Rapid Response Coaching?

Discovery can trigger an intense emotional response for both partners.

The betrayed partner may feel desperate for answers, unable to sleep, compelled to search for more information or uncertain about what is real.

The partner whose behaviour has been discovered may feel panic, shame, fear or an urgent need to explain and repair everything immediately.

These early conversations can quickly become overwhelming.

This session provides a structured space to focus on what is happening now and what needs attention first.

The goal is not to decide whether the relationship should survive.

The goal is stabilization before major decisions are made.

  • Who Is This Service For?

This service may be appropriate following the discovery of:

    • An affair or infidelity
    • Secret or compulsive pornography use
    • Sex addiction or compulsive sexual behaviour
    • Sexual acting out
    • Secret online relationships or sexual communication
    • Multiple sexual partners or behaviours
    • Significant lying, withholding or deception
    • Financial secrecy related to sexual behaviour
    • A major disclosure that has destabilized the relationship

The appointment may be attended by the betrayed partner individually, the partner whose behaviour has been discovered individually or both partners together.

  • What Happens During the 90-Minute Session?

We focus on what has happened, how recent the discovery is and what is creating the greatest distress.

Depending on your situation, we may address:

    • Emotional regulation
    • Immediate communication boundaries
    • Questions about contact with an affair partner
    • What information needs to be discussed now and what can wait
    • Temporary space or sleeping arrangements
    • Sexual-health concerns
    • Children and family considerations
    • Accountability
    • Trickle truth, minimizing, blaming or overwhelming disclosure

The focus is not on solving the entire relationship. It is on reducing further injury and helping both people understand what needs to happen next.

Your 24–48 Hour Stabilization Plan

Before the session ends, we will create a practical plan for the next one to two days.

This may include:

  • Communication boundaries
  • Temporary space
  • Basic emotional and physical care
  • Outside support
  • Accountability
  • Children and family considerations
  • Sexual-health considerations
  • The next appropriate coaching or therapeutic step

You should leave the session with greater clarity around one important question: What do we need to do next?

You Do Not Have to Decide Whether to Stay or Leave Today

One of the greatest pressures after discovery is feeling that you must immediately decide the future of the relationship.

You may be asking:

  • Is my relationship over?
  • Should I leave?
  • Can I ever trust this person again?
  • Do I need to know everything right now?
  • Is recovery possible?

Those questions matter, but they do not need to be answered while you are still in shock.

There will be time to understand what happened and decide whether reconciliation, separation, discernment or another path is right for you.

The first task is creating enough stability to make those decisions with greater clarity.

If your affair, pornography use, sexual behaviour or deception has just been discovered, you may also feel overwhelmed.

Your instinct may be to explain, defend, minimize, provide every detail or pressure your partner to believe the relationship can be repaired. These reactions can sometimes increase the injury.

We will focus on accountability, how to respond to your partner’s distress without trying to control it, what behaviours need to stop and what actions can begin creating greater emotional safety.
